Everett Matlock, 94, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, March 21, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Dec. 19, 1913, in McClure, Ill., son of James Tilden and Sarah Adeline Phillips Matlock. He and Hazel Kinder Matlock were married April 6, 1951, in Piggott, Ark. She died April 21, 1990.
Matlock worked at Montgomery Ward in Cape Girardeau and for Marquette Cement Co., retiring in 1976.
Survivors include a son, Larry C. Childers of Jackson; three grandsons, Terry Childers of Cape Girardeau, Garry Childers of Louisiana, Larry Keith Childers of Jackson; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Ronald Childers in July 1963; his parents; five brothers; and two sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.
Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
