JONESBORO, Ill. -- Everett L. Jackson, 95, of Jonesboro died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at Jonesboro Rehab and Health Care Center.
He was born Sept. 14, 1913, in Reynoldsville, Ill., son of Harry and Frances Mayberry Jackson. He and Golda Land were married Dec. 24, 1941, in Jackson. She died June 6, 2002. He then married Mary Belcher July 10, 2003, in Anna, Ill.
Jackson served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jonesboro and Jonesboro Masonic Lodge 111.
Jackson worked most of his life as a carpenter in Southern Illinois.
Survivors include his wife, and a stepson, Gary Belcher of Denver.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 by Lodge 111.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joe Aldridge officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery with military rites conducted by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna.
