EAST PRAIRIE -- Everett Ellis, 94, a resident of East Prairie and former resident of Sikeston, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997, at his home.
He was born Oct. 29, 1903, in Jonesboro, Ill., the son of Jim and Fronia Osborne Ellis. He married Martha C. Stockman on Nov. 25, 1928. She preceded him in death on Aug. 23, 1995.
He was a retired farmer and attended the Full Gospel Church in East Prairie.
He is survived by two sons, LaRoy Ellis of St. Charles and Carl Ellis of Nashville, Tenn.; three daughters, Erma D. Hart of St. Louis, Thelma Thompson of Nashville and Doris Kelam of Hillsboro; a brother, Harold Ellis of East Prairie; a daughter, Helen Nettles of Kenner, La.; 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and a daughter.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Shelby Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Johnson and Bro. Burl Brill officiating.
Burial will follow at Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
