MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Everett E. Schuler, 94, of Mound City, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born April 24, 1902, at Mound City.
He owned and operated Schuler Ice and Coal Co., in Mound City until his retirement.
He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Cairo and Modern Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by his wife, Maudie Schuler of Mound City; a daughter Roberta Schaefer of Owensboro, Ky.; a son, Larry Hoopaw of Maryville, Mo.; eight grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His first wife, Pauline Schuler, and a son, Dennis Hoopaw, preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Visitation will resume from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the First Southern Baptist Church in Cairo. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church with the Revs. Bill Gholson, Larry Potts and Scott McDuffie officiating. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City is in charge of the arrangements.
