SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Evelyn Ruth Bollinger Whipple, 79, beloved wife and aunt, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at her home in Wallula, Wash., surrounded by loving family and caregivers. She was born Aug. 6, 1933, in Bollinger County, daughter of Ellis and Bessie Bollinger. She and Charles "Gene" Whipple were married July 22, 1974...

SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Evelyn Ruth Bollinger Whipple, 79, beloved wife and aunt, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at her home in Wallula, Wash., surrounded by loving family and caregivers.

She was born Aug. 6, 1933, in Bollinger County, daughter of Ellis and Bessie Bollinger. She and Charles "Gene" Whipple were married July 22, 1974.

Evelyn was a member of Massachusetts Order of Eastern Star, Elks and Lady of the Moose. Evelyn thoroughly enjoyed the 10 years she spent with Gene during the last of his Marine Corps career in San Diego and 29 Palms, Calif., Boston and Cape Cod, Mass. Everyone enjoyed visiting her home and being part of her social functions.

She enjoyed lapidary, camping, boating, bird watching and working in her yard. She and Gene enjoyed many years of traveling and camping throughout the western states after their retirement from the military. They shared 38 years of memories and cherished every day they spent together.

Evelyn was a generous, kind and loving person, and will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, Connie McCormack (Jerry) of Winfield, Mo., Rick Presnell (Chris) of Perryville, Mo., Kenny Henson (Pam) of Patton, Mo., Paula Parker (Jan) of Jackson, Terry Hutson (Dwayne) of Patton and Susan Toia (Will) of Blue Springs, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Mary Lou Henson and Rose Marie Presnell of Patton.

A private memorial service will be planned at a later date.
