EVELYN V. JACKSON

MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Evelyn V. Jackson, 78, of Mound City, died Thursday, March 30, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

She was born Aug. 4, 1916, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Jesse and Zora Hodge Morton. She married Earl Jackson, who died Nov. 29, 1992.

Jackson was a member of Cairo Baptist Church, Mound City Women's Club, Order of Eastern Star and White Shrine. She also served as a trustee for Mound City Public Library.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary McGinness of Cairo, Barbara Rose of Paris, Tenn.; a son, Allan Jackson of Memphis; a brother, Jack Morton of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Geneva King of Jackson, Mo.; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Cairo Baptist Church, with Dr. Larry L. Potts officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City from 5-8 p.m. today, and at the church Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to service time.
