Evelyn Ann Oxley, 71, of Jackson passed away Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center due to congestive heart failure.

She was born to Nellie Mae Curtiss Sept. 1, 1951, in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

Evelyn worked at Florsheim Shoe before starting her career at Procter & Gamble. After retirement, she worked at Jackson Walmart and Emory's in Fruitland. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved the beach, gardening, animals and antique hunting. Above all, she treasured time with her family the most.

Loving survivors include two children, Heather (Joe) Grojean of Cape Girardeau and Nathan Oxley of Jackson; two grandchildren Maya and Blake Grojean of Cape Girardeau.

Also surviving are a brother, Don Henderson, and a niece, Diane Ogden of Bay Minette, Alabama.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Card; her mother; and former husband, Terry "T.K." Oxley.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until service time Monday, Oct. 24, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

Funeral will be at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may take the form of contributions to Southeast Missouri Pets in Cape Girardeau or Ocean Conservancy at www.oceanconservancy.org.
