DEXTER -- Evelyn Jarrell, 95, of Dudley died Thursday, Dec. 29., 1999, at Doctors Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
She was born June 6, 1904, in Carmi, Ill., the daughter of the late Noah Thomas and Laura Ellen Brown Hutchcraft. On May 31, 1924, she was married to James Herbert Jarrell at Dexter. He preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 1977.
She had lived in Dudley since 1924 and was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include three sons, T.L. and Dean Jarrell, both of Dudley, and J.C. Jarrell of Dexter; four daughters, Louise Abbott of Dudley, Janice Patterson of Dexter, Melba Dewrock of Cape Girardeau and Dorothy Kinworthy of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, May McKay and Fay McKay, both of Dexter; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. Thursday. Funeral will begin at 2:30 p.m. today in Dexter, with Brother Bud Meadows of Dudley officiating. Brothers Jerry Metcalf and Shorty Kestner, both of Dudley, will be assisting.
Burial will follow in Dudley Cemetery.
