Evelyn Cunningham

Evelyn Clodine Cunningham, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at Life Care Center.

She was born June 14, 1913, near Cape Girardeau, daughter of E. Frank and Lillie Clodine Williamson Hopper. She and Jesse Holmes Cunningham were married June 21, 1930, in Cairo, Ill. He died May 27, 1989.

Cunningham was a graduate of the former University High School. She had worked at International Shoe Co., Southern Cafe, and Dairy Bell. She was a long time member of Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Donald Cunningham of Delphos, Ohio, Ronald Cunningham of Cape Girardeau, Joseph Cunningham of Reynoldsville, Ill.; three sisters, Bessie Johnson, Wanda Grim and Martha Bertrand of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Hobbs Chapel Church. Burial will be in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery.
