Evelyn Brooks

Evelyn M. Brooks, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Dec. 13, 1918, in Pang-burn, Ark., daughter of John and Willey Goad Graham. She and Luin Brooks were married May 14, 1939. He died Jan. 20, 1987.

Brooks was a member of the Church of Christ at Jackson. She was a volunteer 15 years at Saint Francis Medical Center.

Survivors include a son, Norman Brooks of Scott City; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Brian McCallister officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
