SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Evelyeene DeRousse, 88, of Scott City died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at Rivers Run Health Care in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 20,1914, in Anniston, Mo., daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Mary Alice Edgman Hockersmith. She and Elmer G. DeRousse were married Feb. 14, 1942, at Fornfelt, Mo. He died Sept. 6, 1969.
DeRousse moved to Scott City 10 years ago from Prairie Du Rocher, Ill. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City. Before retiring, she was a cook at Prairie Du Rocher Elementary School.
Survivors include three sisters, Irene Phipps and Aleene Ellinger of Scott City and Dorothy Wasson of East Prairie, Mo.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairie Du Rocher from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Albert Krerer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
