ESSEX -- Funeral service for Evaline Ritchie of Essex will be held at 1 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter. The Rev. Maxwell Lewis will officiate, with burial in Essex Cemetery.
Ritchie, 66, died Monday, Feb. 17, 1997, at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter.
She was born March 15, 1930, in Chicago, daughter of Harvey Daniel and Effie Pearl Hedger Thurman. She and Thomas J. Ritchie were married Oct. 11, 1947, at Bloomfield. He died Jan. 10, 1995.
Ritchie had lived in Essex since 1944.
Survivors include three daughters, Sherry Burton of Bloomfield, Sandy Clark and Beverly Cullum of Dexter; a son, Steve Ritchie of Bernie; a brother, Rubin Thurman of Laurie; six sisters, Virgie Holt, Imogene Cantrell, Peggy Hughes and Dannie Thurman, all of Sikeston, Gearline Lawson of Fruitland, Jeanice Brown of Arbyrd; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by a son and sister.
