Eva Johnson
KARNAK, Ill. -- Eva Lee Cheek Johnson, 82, of Karnak died Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis, Ill.
She was born Nov. 26, 1925, at Karnak, daughter of John E. and Willie Mae Basham Cheek. She married Wesley F. Johnson.
Johnson attended the First Baptist Church in Karnak and was a retired secretary for the North American Van Lines in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Linda L. Whitis of Logan, Ohio; a sister, LaVerne Anderson of Karnak; a brother, James Cheek of Antwerp, Ohio; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Masonic Cemetery, Cypress, Ill. The Rev. Kelly Cox will officiate, with interment following in the Masonic Cemetery.
At the request of the family, expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Tribute Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105-1942.
