Eva Faye Hinze, 95, of Cape Girardeau departed this life Monday, June 1, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born April 1, 1920, in Beaver Creek Township, Missouri, daughter of Meek and Luella Smothers Morris. She and Arthur L. Hinze were married May 17, 1941, in Jackson. He preceded her in death in 1958.
Eva lived in the Harviell and Neelyville, Missouri, area until the age of 18. She was a salvage-yard operator, and well-known in her business as Sam. She owned and operated her salvage yard 40 years.
She enjoyed automobiles, spending time with her grandchildren and doing activities and traveling with them. She was a member of Cape First Church.
Survivors include three sons, Everett (Jeannette) Hinze and James (Donna) Hinze of Jackson and Billy (K.C.) Hinze of Sedgewickville, Missouri; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers.
She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Charles Lance officiating. Interment will be in Cochran Cemetery near Harviell.
