EAST PRAIRIE -- Eva Etta Blackard, 79, of East Prairie, died Friday, Feb. 7, 1992, at East Prairie Nursing Center.
She was born May 12, 1912, in Clarksville, Ark., daughter of Arthur and Hattie Sims Garren. She married Olen Blackard March 5, 1937. He died March 15, 1980.
Blackard attended Barnes Ridge Baptist Church near here.

Survivors include two sons, Dwight Blackard of Houston, Texas, Irvin Blackard of Malden; a daughter, Oleen Clark of East Prairie; four brothers, Alvie Garren of Houston, Vennie Garren of New Britain, Conn., Fay Garren of Bedford, Va., Donald Garren of Omaha, Ark.; a sister, Marie Munson of Omaha; nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Shelby Funeral Chapel here. Pastors Virgil Hyslip and Raymond Grimes will officiate, with burial in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
