JACKSON, Mo. -- Eulis A. Pruett, 79, of Jackson died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis. He was born Aug. 10, 1921, at Senath, Mo., son of William Arthur and Alice Holt Pruett. He and Charlene Macke were married June 11, 1950, at Jackson. She survives...

JACKSON, Mo. -- Eulis A. Pruett, 79, of Jackson died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born Aug. 10, 1921, at Senath, Mo., son of William Arthur and Alice Holt Pruett. He and Charlene Macke were married June 11, 1950, at Jackson. She survives.

He was a member of Normandy Presbyterian Church. He was an English teacher and guidance counselor for many years in Kennett, Mo., and at Normandy Junior High School. He was active in work with the Boy Scouts and was a horticulturist.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

Other survivors include three sons, Alyn Pruett of Miami, Fla.; Robert Pruett of Houston, Texas, and David Pruett of St. Louis; a sister, Mildred Van Buskirk of Owensville, Mo.; a half brother, B.A. Goodrich of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and three stepbrothers.

Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 4 p.m. today at the chapel, with the Rev. Grant Gillard officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
