EULA `PETE' KINDER

JACKSON -- Eula "Pete" Kinder, 81, of Jackson died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born July 25, 1916, at Jackson, the daughter of Henry and Mary Clingingsmith Steinhoff. She married Howard Kinder Feb. 3, 1940. He survives.

She worked for the former International Shoe Co., in Jackson for 44 years, retiring in 1979. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for 35 years.

She was class secretary for the Fidelis Sunday school class and also was a leader of Girls in Action for 10 years.

She is also survived by a brother, James "J.C." Steinhoff of Decatur, Ga.; two sisters, Mildred Dirden and Doris "Jennie" Friedrich, both of Jackson.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kevin Roberts officiating.

Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery.
