EAST PRAIRIE -- Eugene Ray Woods, 75, of East Prairie died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Feb. 15, 1921, in Norse City, Ill., son of George H. and Ethel Thurmond Woods. He and Elizabeth Mae Rhodes were married Sept. 21, 1941.
Woods was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife; seven sons, Jewell and Vernon Woods of Anniston, Todd and Darrell Woods of East Prairie, Ronnie Woods of Olive Branch, Ill., Jimmy Woods of Sikeston, Bruce Woods of Bernie; two daughters, Shirley Hutson and Brenda Bolden of East Prairie; a brother, L.C. Woods of East Prairie; Four sisters, Lela Grimes of East Prairie, Genevive Haney of Miner, JoAnn Winslow of Charleston, S.C., Inez Newman of St. Louis; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 6 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Larry Riggins and Amos Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Cemetery.
