JACKSON -- Eugene V. Himmelsbach, 67, of Jackson, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1992, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born April 9, 1925, in Fornfelt, son of Chris J. and Gertrude M. Porter Himmelsbach.
He and Thelma M. Smith were married Feb. 3, 1946.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Connie Treece of Denver, Colo., Gena Peterson of Jackson; six grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
A brother preceded him in death.
He had worked for Wells Fargo for many years, and then worked at the Federal Reserve Bank in Denver. He retired three years ago from the Federal Reserve and returned to Jackson, after living 26 years in Denver.
He is a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served with the field artillery battalion in the South Pacific.
He was a member of American Legion Altenthal-Joerns Post 158 in Jackson, and New McKendree United Methodist Church.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home. A legion honor guard service will be held at 7:30.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Otto Steinhaus officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
