DONGOLA, Ill. -- Eugene "Gene" Hayes, 67, of rural Dongola, formerly of Pulaski, Ill., died Saturday, May 18, 1996, at the Bob McIntosh farm near Pulaski of an apparent heart attack.
Haynes was born Aug. 28, 1928, at Miller City, Ill., son of Cecil and Della Dosha Jones Haynes.
Haynes was a retired mechanic. He was a member of the Pulaski Christian Church.
Haynes married Florence Wood June 17, 1949, at Mound City, Ill.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Thomas E. and Cecil Haynes, both of Ullin, Ill.; a daughter, Lora Bridges of Anna, Ill.; two sisters, Irene Davis of Bristol, Wis., and Pauline Bond of Dongola; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, two brothers and three grandchildren.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Monday at the Jones Funeral Home at Villa Ridge, Ill.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
William Winters will officiate, with burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Pulaski.
