BENTON, Mo. -- Eugene Fodge, 79, of Benton died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, at home. He was born Dec. 6, 1924, in Lilbourn, Mo., son of John D. and Gertrude Frances Carson Fodge. He and Helen Marie Helms were married Aug. 28, 1945, at Piggott, Ark. Fodge was a self-employed farmer. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He belonged to the VFW Post 5368 in Morley, Mo., and the Disabled American Veterans...

BENTON, Mo. -- Eugene Fodge, 79, of Benton died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, at home.

He was born Dec. 6, 1924, in Lilbourn, Mo., son of John D. and Gertrude Frances Carson Fodge. He and Helen Marie Helms were married Aug. 28, 1945, at Piggott, Ark.

Fodge was a self-employed farmer. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He belonged to the VFW Post 5368 in Morley, Mo., and the Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Mike Fodge and wife Jeannie of Benton; five daughters, Pat Hunott and husband Jim of Sikeston, Mo., Sandra Hill and husband Lloyd of Dyersburg, Tenn., Glenda Enderle and husband Randy of New Hamburg, Mo., Donna Tippy and husband Randy of Sikeston, Mo., Rita Milam and husband Brad of Benton; a brother, Clyde Fodge of Sikeston; 12 grandchildren, Scott Hill, Amy and Jason Bain, Christi Gregory, Tina and Mark Dee, Tonya and Robert Kolwyck, Tamny and Shannon Cureton, Brian Enderle, Cory and Sheri Fodge, Chad Fodge, Casey Fodge, Jarrett and Malinda Milam and Julie Milam; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Charleston, Mo., with military graveside rites.
