Eugene Hughes Drennan, 71, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, at his home in West Paducah, Ky. He was born March 18, 1934, in Cape Girardeau County, the son of Henry Crayton and Ora Chapman Drennan. He and Modena May Cook were married on May 28, 1960, in Cape Girardeau. Eugene Hughes Drennan, 71, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, at his home in West Paducah, Ky.

He was born March 18, 1934, in Cape Girardeau County, the son of Henry Crayton and Ora Chapman Drennan. He and Modena May Cook were married on May 28, 1960, in Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 1999.

Mr. Drennan was a graduate of Delta High School. He served in the National Guard. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3775. He retired from management at Cresent Parts in Cape Girardeau.

He is survived by two daughters, Lori Diane (Gilbert) Devine of Sharpe, Ky., and Shari Kay (Bradley) Gholson of West Paducah, Ky.; a sister, Mary Ann Laxton of Scott City; four grandchildren, Conrad and Colton Gholson of West Paducah, and Kelsey and Tyler Devine of Sharpe.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Eugene Drennan, and a brother, Bobby Lee Drennan.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until funeral time on Tuesday.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home with the Rev. Ann Mowery officiating.

Entombment will be at the Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
