Eugene E. Butler, 50, of Waxahachie, Texas, and formerly of Southern Illinois, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at his home.

He was born May 30, 1950, in Cairo, Ill., son of Elmer and Ethel O. Engleman Butler. He and Diane Quinn were married March 19, 1993, in Las Vegas.

Butler built skylights and worked for Supersky in California and ACA Inc. in New Jersey.

Survivors include his wife; his mother of Goreville, Ill.; three daughters, Angela Butler and Michelle Peeler, both of Jonesboro, Ill., and Jillian K. McCoy of Anna, Ill.; one stepson, Ron Turbeville of Waxahachie; one stepdaughter, Angela Turbeville of Waxahachie; two brothers, Wayne Butler of Wetaug, Ill., and Edward Butler of Metropolis, Ill.; two sisters, Marietta Yakstis and Elsie Marie Butler, both of Goreville; and five grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Paul Sadler will officiate, with burial in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola, Ill.
