PERRYVILLE -- Etta M. Schmitt, 87, formerly of St. Louis, died Wednesday, March 2, 1994, at Aspen Forest Care Center. She was born Oct. 24, 1906, in Bollinger County, daughter of Henry Luther and Garthe Loberg Moran. She first married George P. Brown, who died Nov. 24, 1970. She later married Henry Schmitt, who died Dec. 3, 1980...

PERRYVILLE -- Etta M. Schmitt, 87, formerly of St. Louis, died Wednesday, March 2, 1994, at Aspen Forest Care Center.

She was born Oct. 24, 1906, in Bollinger County, daughter of Henry Luther and Garthe Loberg Moran. She first married George P. Brown, who died Nov. 24, 1970. She later married Henry Schmitt, who died Dec. 3, 1980.

Schmitt retired as a nurse at St. Louis County Hospital. She was a member of Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and past president of VFW Auxiliary, both in St. Louis.

Survivors include a brother, Meredith Moran of Patton; two sisters, Retta Schremp of McBride, and Zola Schwent of Perryville.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4:30-9 p.m. Sunday, and 6:30-8:30 a.m. Monday. A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Graveside service will be at 10:15 a.m. Monday at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. The Rev. Kevin Fausz will officiate.
