JACKSON -- Funeral service for Etta H. Boyd of Jackson will be held at 2 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Chapel. The Rev. William Bernauer will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Boyd, 94, died Monday, Nov. 23, 1992, at Chateau Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 13, 1898, at Alliance, daughter of G.W. and Rachel Fadler Johnson. She and Thomas A. Boyd were married April 14, 1924. He died Jan. 26, 1969.
Boyd was an elementary teacher 25 years in Perry, Madison and Bollinger counties, retiring in 1965. The Boyds moved from a farm at Farmington to Bollinger County in 1932, and then to Jackson in 1965.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church at Jackson, DAR at Jackson, Cane Creek Homemakers Club, former member of Eastern Star.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Boyd of Sedgewickville, Dewey Boyd of Charleston; seven grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, daughter, two grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters.
