McCLURE, Ill. -- Etta Mae Walker Baugher, 74, of McClure died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.
She was born Sept. 9, 1923, at McClure, daughter of William and Helen Mary Benefield Charles. She first married Warren C. Walker Jan. 23, 1940, at Marble Hill, Mo. He died Nov. 26, 1966. She and George A. Baugher were married Oct. 11, 1988, in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He died Aug. 11, 1991.
Baugher worked at International Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau 27 years, and was later a cook on a riverboat with Pevey Towing Co. She was a member of White Shrine in Ava.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris Coleman of East Alton, Sharon White of Olive Branch; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel in Cape Girardeau from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Ray Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery.
