Ethel L. Eggleston Weakly, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Southeast Hospital.
She was born April 27, 1936, in Bieleh, Arkansas, to the late John and Ora Huffman Eggleston.
Ethel received Christ at an early age and was a member of Church of God in Christ. She was married to Bishop Don L. Weakly for 43 years until his passing Nov. 30, 2014.
She loved to fish.
She is survived by one daughter, Ollie Betts of Cape Girardeau; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Sandy Betts of Sikeston, Missouri; two stepsons and one stepdaughter-in-law, Eddie and Monet Jenkins of Nashville, Tennessee, and Melvin Burrnell of Minneapolis; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Clinton Wren of St. Louis, Leonard and Vera Spicer and Ricky Spicer of Cape Girardeau; six great-great-grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; a host of grandchildren; nephews; nieces; other relatives; and friends.
Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at Greater Dimension Ministries in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with Bishop Calvin Bird officiating. Interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Williams Funeral Home of Charleston, Missouri, is in charge of arrangements.
