Ethel Ella Breeden Leist, 85, of High Ridge, formerly of Scott City, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998, at Cedars Health Care Center in Cedar Hill.

She was born May 2, 1912 in Winnona, daughter of William Moses and Myrtle Josephine Burse Breeden.

She married Alphonse Leist, who died in 1971. She then married Otto Leist, who died in 1995.

She had worked for Hassey Packing Co. and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City.

She is survived by two daughters, Irma Werner and Barbara Boyland, both of High Ridge; three brothers, Paul and Charles Breeden, both of Licking, and William Breeden of Florissant; a sister, Iva Adey of Houston, Mo.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. today at Chapel Hill Mortuary in High Ridge and Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Pat Wissman officiating. Burial will be at Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
