SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Esther M. Stewart of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. Pat Hogan will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Stewart, 77, died Wednesday, March 26, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 21, 1919, in Brilliant, Ala., daughter of Boss Luther and Edna Luena Corkren Mays. She and John H. Stewart were married July 31, 1939, in Hamilton, Ala.

Stewart was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Darrell Stewart of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Dorothy Wagley and Sondra Armour of Sikeston; four brothers, Edward Mays of Parma, Ray Mays of Malden, Wallice Mays of Wayne, Mich., David Mays of Buena Vista, Tenn.; two sisters, Mary Ryan of Cookeville, Tenn., Fraulein Hice of Sand Springs, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, and brother.
