ESTHER LARGENT

SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Esther Vancil Largent of Sikeston will be held at 10 a.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Fred Leist will officiate, with burial in Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.

Largent, 81, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 1997, at the General Baptist Nursing Center in Campbell.

She was born Dec. 13, 1915, at Gideon, daughter of William F. and Leona Dyer Hildebrand. She and Ernest Vancil Jr. were married Dec. 1, 1935, at Holcomb. He died Feb. 10, 1960. She later married E.R."Buddy" Largent Feb. 16, 1964. He died Aug. 5, 1992.

Largent was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and Philathea Sunday School Class.

Survivors include a son, J.P. Vancil of Campbell; a stepson, William Largent of San Diego, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Janis Stewart of Macomb, Ill.; a sister, Maurine Long of Memphis, Tenn.; two grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
