ESTHER HARTY

SCOTT CITY -- Esther Mae Harty, 74, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport, Iowa.

She was born April 8, 1925, in Alton, Ill., daughter of William C. and Mae Northcutt. She and Alvin Gene Harty were married Dec. 25, 1948.

Harty had worked at Winchester-Olin in East Alton, and had also been a switchboard operator with Bell Telephone.

Survivors include her husband of Melrose, Iowa; a son, David Harty of Bettendorf; and a grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel. The Rev. Rennie Phillips will officiate. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery at Scott City.
