Esther Edna Aufdenberg, 92, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 17, 1914, in Wittenberg, Mo., the daughter of Martin and Emma Richter Grebing. She and Arnold H. Aufdenberg were married on Feb. 7, 1937, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 1980.
Aufdenberg worked at the International Shoe Factory and for Childs IGA. She later worked as a baker for National Bakery.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. She was baptized on May 21, 1914, at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wittenberg, and was confirmed April 13, 1930, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Jean Peterson of Boonville, Mo., and Melba Adelle Inman of Cobden, Ill.; two sons, Larry Don Aufdenberg and wife, Margaret, of Burfordville, Mo. and Lynn Eugene Aufdenberg and wife, LaVerne, of Jackson; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, five sisters, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas C. Breite officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
