ADVANCE, Mo. -- Estella M. Hahn, 97, of Advance died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, at Advance Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 30, 1905, at Kelso, Mo., daughter of Louis and Kathryn Heisserer Burger. She and Toney O. Hahn were married Sept. 6, 1927, at Kelso. He died June 8, 1977...

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Estella M. Hahn, 97, of Advance died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, at Advance Nursing Home.

She was born Oct. 30, 1905, at Kelso, Mo., daughter of Louis and Kathryn Heisserer Burger. She and Toney O. Hahn were married Sept. 6, 1927, at Kelso. He died June 8, 1977.

Mrs. Hahn worked in the laundry department at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1967. She lived in Cape Girardeau from 1945 until moving to Advance in 1992.

She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and St. Mary's Quilting Club while living in Cape Girardeau. She was currently a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance, its Council of Catholic Women and St. Ann's Sodality. She was an avid quilter and gardener.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Richard A. and Jody Hahn of Advance; a daughter, Doris Slaughter of Sikeston, Mo.; two sisters, Anna Dirnberger of Chaffee, Mo., Vernetta Scherer of Kelso; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Marie Ann Hahn; a brother, seven sisters, and a grandson.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau from 4 to 9 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7:45.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Rev. Stephen A. Schneider and the Rev. Scott Sunnenberg officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Pallbearers will be Leonard Glueck, Vincent Glueck, Kevin Glueck, Mark Hahn, Vance Boyer, Steven Kyle and Tony Atkins.
