ANNA, Ill. -- Essie McKinney, 98, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Wednesday, April 17, 1996, at Desert Cove Nursing Center in Chandler, Ariz.
She was born Feb. 27, 1898, in Jackson County, daughter of George and Clercy Penrod Bean.
McKinney was formerly of Anna and Alto Pass. She was a psychiatric aide and licensed practical nurse at Anna State Hospital. She was a member of Anna United Methodist Church and life member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 522 in Anna.
Survivors include a son, James McKinney of Phoenix; two daughters, Louise Kendrick of Gardendale, Ala., Lovella Dasher of Fullerton, Calif.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Friends may call after noon Monday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Sullins officiating. Burial will be in McGinnis Cemetery.
