Ervin H. Vogelsang, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born May 20, 1920, at Gordonville, son of Ervin and Emily Frank Vogelsang. He and Margaret Cracraft Vogelsang were married in 1943 in Cape Girardeau. She died Dec. 4, 1983.
Vogelsang was a custodian with the U.S. Post Office. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church and was a member of Disabled American Veterans.
He served with the military police in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Lynn Vogelsang of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Calvin Vogelsang of Cape Girardeau, Robert Vogelsang of Farmington, Mo.; three sisters, Vernice Baumstark of Cape Girardeau, Erma Oliver of Columbia, Mo., Vera Phillips of Clinton, Miss.; two grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to service time Thursday.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park, with graveside rites by VFW.
