CAIRO, Ill. -- Ervin Oscar Nichols, 88, of Cairo, died Friday, Sept. 1, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 3, 1906, in Atkins, Ark., son of Horace and Sara Bell Nichols.
Nichols was a retired pipefitter and welder. He was a member of Pipefitters and Welders Local in Paducah, Ky.
Survivors include two daughters, Mickey Blackburn of Cairo, Margie Atherton of Knoxville, Tenn.; three sisters, Jewell Nichols of Cape Girardeau, Arkie Baker of Bernie, Anna Harris of Marion, Ind.; five grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Gholson officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
