KELSO, Mo. -- Ervin Eichhorn, 87, of Kelso, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the family home.
He was born on Jan. 19, 1928, near New Hamburg, Missouri, to the late Edward and Nora Dannenmueller Eichhorn. He married Rita Heisserer on Feb. 4, 1948, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 14, 2011.
Ervin was a sergeant in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, and the Chaffee VFW Post No. 3127. He was a self-employed bricklayer.
Survivors include two daughters, Rose Ann (Herb) Thomas of Roseland, Virginia, and Laura (Butch) Stidham of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Randy (Tammy) Eichhorn of Pocahontas, Missouri, Lester (Pam) Eichhorn of Chaffee, Missouri, and Jerome (Myra) Eichhorn of Scott City; 11 grandchildren, Ben (Elena) Thomas, Ian Thomas, Austin Thomas, Erik (Becky) Stidham, Megan (Rick) Pingkian, Shawn (Tracy) Bollinger, Jesse Bollinger, Hillary Eichhorn, Adrienne Eichhorn, Sarah Eichhorn and Alex Eichhorn; seven great-grandchildren, Elliot Thomas, Felicity "Lizzie" Pingkian, Brenden Pingkian, Andrew Stidham, Bolden Bollinger, Riley Bollinger and Kinsey Bollinger.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Parish prayers will be at 6 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, with the Rev. Oliver Clavin as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery in Kelso, with full military honors presented by the Missouri Honor Guard.
