WHITEWATER -- Private graveside service for Ervin Wayne Collins of Whitewater was held Thursday at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Cy Smith officiated.
Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Collins, 58, died Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at his home.
He was born Oct. 19, 1940, in Cape Girardeau, son of Ervin and Ollie Kesterson Collins.
Collins owned and operated Knight Oil Equipment and also Quality Air Compressors at Blomeyer from 1971-93. For the past two years he was a truck driver with SEMO Ready Mix Inc.
He was a lifelong resident of Cape Girardeau County.
Survivors include two sons, Greg Collins of Jackson, Ervin Collins of Charleston; two daughters, Rebecca and Tammy Collins of Cape Girardeau; his father of Cape Girardeau; a brother, George Collins of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Ruby Collins of Delta, Ellen Knight of Ledbetter, Ky.; a friend, Tori; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother.
