ERNST W. KASTEN

UNIONTOWN -- Ernst W. Kasten, 78, of Uniontown died Monday, Oct. 17, 1994, at the Aspen Forest Care Center in Perryville.

He was born Sept. 28, 1916, at Uniontown, the son of Charles A. and Elsa Bultmann Kasten. On Oct. 20, 1946, he married Ella A. Erdmann, who survives of Uniontown.

He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown, where he was an elder for six years, on the school board for six years and on the finance board for six years.

Other survivors include three sons, Wilhelm E., Alvin P. and Richard C. Kasten, all of Uniontown; a brother, Paul Kasten of Friedenburg; a sister, Elda Mangels of Farrar; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. today and from 6:30-9 a.m. on Wednesday at Young & Sons Funeral Chapel in Perryville. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Paul Winningham will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery.
