PERRYVILLE -- Ernst B. Oswald, 87, of Perryville died Saturday, March 4, 1995, at St. Louis University Hospital.
He was born Aug. 2, 1907, the son of Bernard and Rosa Hemman Oswald. On May 31, 1935, he married Verna Hacker.
He was a retired welder for the General Motors Corporation and formerly was a member of United Auto Workers. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Fred Oswald of Eureka and Ralph Oswald of Crestwood; a daughter, Jean Wideman of Gray Summit; two sisters, Esther Bonnar of Prescott, Ariz., and Edna Meyer of St. Louis; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant child and three brothers.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Young and Sons Funeral Chapel in Perryville. Friends also may call from 6:30 a.m. Wednesday until time for the funeral service at 10 a.m. at the funeral chapel. The Rev. Paul Winningham will officiate, and burial will be in Laurel Hills Cemetery in St. Louis.
