EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Ernest Ray "Bo" Weems, 77, of East Prairie died Monday, May 31, 2004, at his home.
He was born Oct. 16, 1926, in Ridgely, Tenn., son of James Irl and Beulah Odell Stinnett Weems. He and Mildred Marie Parden were married Nov. 23, 1946.
Weems had worked at Ralston Purina and retired from Wilbert Vault Co. in St. Louis. He then moved to East Prairie and was a farmer. He was a member of Full Gospel Church in East Prairie.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Eugene Weems of East Prairie, Richard Weems of Yorktown, Ind., Darrell Weems of Sikeston, Mo.; five daughters, Barbara Dotson of Cuba, Mo., Shelia Sharp of New Castle, Pa., Ruth Brannum of Muncie, Ind., Raye Poley of Paducah, Ky., and Denise Little of East Prairie.
Also surviving are three sisters, Bonnie Carlyle and Faye McGill of East Prairie, Golden Day of Addison, Ala.; a brother, Bobby Weems of East Prairie; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 8:30 a.m. today.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Full Gospel Church, with Mike Johnson and Billy Freeman officiating. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
