Ernest McElrath, 81, of Farmington, Mo., died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at his home.
He was born Aug. 15, 1922, at Bismarck, Mo., son of Harry and Ona Buxton McElrath. He married Ann Kirk.
McElrath lived in Jackson seven years before moving to Farmington four years ago. He was a retired rural mail carrier, and a real estate broker.
He was an officer in the Missouri National Guard.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Kirk McElrath of Farmington; a daughter, Linda Juarez of St. Louis; two brothers, Gerald McElrath of Jackson, Stanley McElrath of Tempe, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
The funeral was held Sunday at Horton-Wampler Funeral Home in Park Hills, Mo. The Rev. Stanley McElrath officiated. Burial was in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
