PERRYVILLE -- Ernest "Ernie" F. Boxdorfer, 77, of Perryville died Sunday, Dec. 29, 1996, at his home.
He was born March 10, 1919, in Perryville, son of the Louis and Anna Catherine Yamnitz Boxdorfer. He married Ann Theresa Macke on June 14, 1941. She survives.
He was a retired lineman for Citizens Electric, a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army and Navy, a member of American Legion Post 133 and a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 4282.
He is survived by two sons, Everett and Alan Boxdorfer, both of Perryville; two daughters, Theresa Williams of Imperial and Faye Hacker of Fredericktown; two brothers, Harry Boxdorfer of St. Louis and Gilbert Boxdorfer of Billings, Neb.; a sister, Ella Stueve of Perryville; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today, and 6:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, at the Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A parish wake will be tonight at 7, followed by a V.F.W. wake at 7:15.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gerry Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
