MARBLE HILL -- Ernest E. Darr, 72, of Marble Hill died Saturday, Oct. 7, 1995, at the Puxico Manor. He was born Sept. 26, 1923, at Sikeston, son to Charles and Mary Lawson Darr. On July 2, 1960, he married Wanda Durbin, who survives. Darr was a member of the Point Pleasant Baptist Church, Zalma Masonic Lodge, Crestwood VFW 3953 and DAV Chapter 1 of St.. Louis. MARBLE HILL -- Ernest E. Darr, 72, of Marble Hill died Saturday, Oct. 7, 1995, at the Puxico Manor.

He was born Sept. 26, 1923, at Sikeston, son to Charles and Mary Lawson Darr. On July 2, 1960, he married Wanda Durbin, who survives.

Darr was a member of the Point Pleasant Baptist Church, Zalma Masonic Lodge, Crestwood VFW 3953 and DAV Chapter 1 of St.. Louis. He was retired from Nixdorff-Krein Manufacturing in St.. Louis.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ernest E. Darr of Westville, Ind., Ronald Albrecht of Santa Anna, Calif., and Charles W. Albrecht of Imperial; four daughters, Ruth Aleto and Norma Travis, both of O'Fallon, Deanie Coonce of Florissant and Mary Arsenault of Pelham, N.Y.; three brothers, Ray Abernathy and Johnny F. Abernathy, both of Dexter, and Roy Abernathy of Marble Hill; two sisters, Mabel Tippens of Dexter and Pauline Poitras of Swartz Creek, Mich.; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will begin after 5 p.m. today at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, with a Masonic Service at 7 by the Zalma Masonic Lodge. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bobby Robbins officiating. Burial with military rites by VFW Post 5900 will follow in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery.
