ERNEST "BUTCH" MASON

Ernest "Butch" Mason Jr., 51, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, May 15, 1998. He was born Nov. 8, 1946, in Cape Girardeau, son of Ernest Vernon and Hattie May Morris Mason. He married Barbara Terry on Nov. 8, 1965, at Jackson. She survives. He was employed as a union carpenter...

Ernest "Butch" Mason Jr., 51, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, May 15, 1998.

He was born Nov. 8, 1946, in Cape Girardeau, son of Ernest Vernon and Hattie May Morris Mason.

He married Barbara Terry on Nov. 8, 1965, at Jackson. She survives.

He was employed as a union carpenter.

He is also survived by a son, Jason Ray Mason of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Danetta Lynn Held of Thebes, Ill., Andrea Dawn Mason of Cape Girardeau and Ruby Ann Edwards of St. Louis; three brothers, Joe Wayne Mason of Thebes, Bob Zimmerman of Orange County, Calif., and Don Zimmerman of Memphis, Tenn.; four sisters, Geneva Shrun of Lake Wappapello, Mary Ann DePeder of Cape Girardeau, Karen Whorton of Cape Girardeau, Mary Eileen Jaco of De Soto, Ill.; and a grandchild.

A son and brother preceded him in death.

A private funeral service will be held. Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
