Ernest Earl Adams, 95, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020, at the Monticello House in Jackson.
He was born Feb. 22, 1925, in McClure, Illinois, son of Andrew P. and Minnie A Cumins Adams. Ernest married Marjorie A. Winn Feb. 10, 1961. She passed away April 6, 1985.
He worked as a truck driver for Standard Oil for several years then started his own business as a heavy equipment operator.
Loving survivors include three daughters, Janet Rhinehart of Kent, Washington, Judy Johnson of North Dakota, and Karren Westbrooks of Cobden, Illinois; a stepson Charles Kimmel of Cobden; a stepdaughter, Linda Johnson of Olmsted, Illinois.
Also surviving are many grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lisa Adams, a son, Joseph Adams, and a stepson, Wesley Kimmel.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Ed Burrows, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes, Illinois, with full military honors.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Cape Church of Christ.
