ERNA M. SCHMIDT

JACKSON -- Funeral service for Erna M. Schmidt, formerly of Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson.

The Rev. Lawrence Eatherton will officiate, and burial will be in the Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Mrs. Schmidt died Tuesday, March 26, at the Peace Memorial Home in Evergreen Park, Ill. She was 85.

She was born Dec. 17, 1905 at Leemon, Mo., the daughter of Benjamin and Amelia Froemsdorf Sides.

On Feb. 14, 1937, she married the Rev. Theodore Schmidt, who preceded her in death Dec. 21, 1987. She also was preceded in death by a brother.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Sievers of Chicago, Ill. and Mrs. Lois Hobratschk, of Somerset, N.J.; two brothers, Raymond Sides of Frohna and Willie Sides of Jackson; a sister, Mrs. Lulu Kelpe of Cape Girardeau; and five grandchildren.
