Erna (Koeppel) Tucker, age 102, died March 1, 1999 at the Lutheran Home. She was born September 12, 1896 at Egypt Mills, the daughter of Charles and Emma (Margraf) Koeppel.
She married L.A. Tucker October 20, 1923 at Cape Girardeau where they started the L.A. Tucker Truckline. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Ladies Jr. Aid, Trinity Guild, and the PTL. As a young lady she worked at the Bainbridge Train Station near Egypt Mills where she sold tickets. She later worked for many years at Rust & Martin, on Broadway, as a bookkeeper, making draperies, and as a salesperson.
She was preceded in death by a son Leslie A. Tucker, Jr. of St. Louis.
She is survived by a daughter, Ladon Scott of Los Angeles, Cal.; a son, Norman N. Tucker of Piedmont; seven grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Hintz officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
