Erma Lucile Haring, 91, of Clinton, Iowa, died Friday, March 7, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center North Campus. She was born on May 29, 1911, at Prophetstown, Ill., daughter of Glenn and Alma Chapin Graham. She and Ralph R. Haring were married June 11, 1931, at Chicago, Ill. He died July 21, 1980...

Erma Lucile Haring, 91, of Clinton, Iowa, died Friday, March 7, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center North Campus.

She was born on May 29, 1911, at Prophetstown, Ill., daughter of Glenn and Alma Chapin Graham.

She and Ralph R. Haring were married June 11, 1931, at Chicago, Ill. He died July 21, 1980.

She graduated from Prophetstown High School in 1929. She attended Browns Business College in Sterling, Ill., graduating in 1930.

She was employed with Illinois Refrigeration Co. in Morrison, Ill. She also was employed as a secretary for the American Cancer Society, the Daniel Haring Co., and for Dr. Ellison, retiring in 1966.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clinton. She was past president of the city PTA and the Big River Chapter of the Izzack Walton League of America.

Survivors include three sons, James Haring of Clinton, Raymond Haring of Cape Girardeau and Ronald Haring of Camanche, Iowa; two daughters, Carol Anderson of Prospect Heights, Ill., and Janice Haring of Coralville, Iowa; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig-Dennis A. Lemke Funeral Homes and Crematory.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Clinton, with the Rev. Herb Shafter officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
