SIKESTON, Mo. -- Connie Kay McDaniel, 51, of Sikeston died suddenly Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at her home.
She was born Aug. 3, 1952, in Independence, Iowa, daughter of Morris and Zoe Vande Voorde. She married Lester McDaniel.
McDaniel was a 1970 graduate of East Buchanan High School in Winthrop, Iowa. She had worked at Wal-Mart, and was currently employed at Good Humor-Breyers.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Joseph McDaniel of Fort Sill Army Base, Okla., Jamison McDaniel with the Army in Germany; her mother of Oelwein, Iowa; two stepsons, John and Matthew McDaniel of Riverside, Calif.; four stepdaughters, Kathy Ochoa and Chrissie Potter of Riverside, Calif., Colleen McDaniel and Carla Balderrama of Phoenix, Ariz.
Also surviving are four brothers, James Vande Voorde of Anchorage, Alaska, Frank Vande Voorde of Gilbert, Ariz., Kenneth and Greg Vande Voorde of Aurora, Iowa; five sisters, Charlene Merkel of Oklahoma City, Okla., Darlene Kealiher of Stevens Point, Wis., Joyce Odekirk of Tempe, Ariz., Lynda Lau of Oelwein, Mary Arnold of Pilot Mound, Iowa; two grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; and six great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, an infant son and a brother.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home after 10 a.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.
